Our Story

our story the stone cronies

Word on the street is that it all started when Diamond Joe walked into a club . . . wearing his now-famous red pants. Major Aitch – there for the show with his wife Ten Percent – notices the bold style statement, strikes up a convo with Joe, and – by the end of the night – there’s a plan to try and make music together. After a promising first session, they decide to add another palooka. One guy knows a guy who knows a guy – who knows another guy. Razor Jay accepts the invitation and a chemistry test for the trio is set for early March 2020. Sparks fly and smiles beam at this genesis event – only to be shut down a few days later by a global pandemic. But the dudes knew they had something and pledged to persevere . . .

After fits and starts in the early days playing in Diamond Joe’s garage due to the pandemic, The Stone Cronies began to gain traction in May of 2021 and managed to put on the first of their celebrated annual driveway shows in July 2021. They followed it with a very special private show in December 2021 at Hey Nonny! From the get-go, the Cronies have fully embraced the mantra of “Always say “Yes!,” a commitment to continuous improvement, and a unique song selection process. Their hard work and dedication have been rewarded with successful gigs both local and as far away as Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee.

Along for the full and epic ride with them – and a critical key to their success – has been the “hidden” fourth member of the band, their manager Ten Percent, without whom their success would not have occurred.
